Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Fayetteville, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.

Construction of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) treatment facility. The Summerlee AMD Treatment project is in the community of Summerlee in Fayette County, West Virginia. The project consists of a modification to a passive treatment system of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) to increase pH from the received AMD of the refuse pile upstream. The AML hazards consist of a failed passive AMD treatment system that collects AMD from a refuse pile upstream of this system and underground seepage inside the project's boundary. The soil in the project area is highly saturated because of the underground seepage and surface runoff. Also, the passive water treatment ponds are clogged with iron sludge, debris, and accumulation, no longer treating the received AMD. The work covered by the Special Provisions and Technical Specifications consists of furnishing all labor, plant, power, equipment and supplies, and performing all operations necessary for the completion of the project. The CONTRACTOR shall perform all operations necessary for: oMobilization and demobilization of all equipment, materials, and labor to provide the scope of work as shown on the Drawings. Installation, inspection, maintenance, and removal of erosion and sediment control best management practices. Dewatering and cleaning of the settling pond. Removal and proper disposal of sludge. Applicable installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls, as necessary. Clearing of brush and trees as noted on the drawings. Removal and proper disposal of objects and obstructions within the work area as noted on the drawings. AMD treatment system maintenance and repair to include washing and replacement of limestone and underdrain pipe repair and replacement, where needed. Modification of existing AMD ditch to increase width and washing/replacement of stone, where needed . Grading and embankment work necessary to construct the vertical flush pond within the seep area.
