Professional design services for the planning, design, and preparation of construction documents for a new fire station campus, including the repurposing of an existing historic building for administrative and public use. All questions regarding this RFP shall be directed to: Town of Edenton Carlton Jackson Special Projects Manager 252-482-2155 carlton.jackson@edenton.nc.gov The selected firm shall provide comprehensive professional services, including but not limited to the following: 4.1 Programming and Needs Assessment Conduct meetings and workshops with Town staff, Fire Department leadership, and stakeholders to identify operational needs, space requirements, and project expectations. Evaluate current and future staffing, apparatus, administrative, training, and support needs. o Prepare a room-by-room space program, clean/dirty adjacency and circulation diagrams, staffing and vehicle capacity assumptions, site test fits, and an initial project cost estimate for review and written approval by the Town and Fire Chief before schematic design. Design for future operational growth, including expanded staffing and storm-duty accommodations. The programming phase shall specifically account for the operational requirements of a Fire Station designed to house the following apparatus and vehicles in a drive-through apparatus bay configuration: o One (1) ladder truck o Four (4) fire engines o Two (2) light-duty pickup trucks with trailers o One (1) utility terrain vehicle ( UTV) o Additional apparatus and support capacity for future departmental growth Test a minimum of six (6) drive-through bays against the full listed fleet and a documented future fleet. Demonstrate actual vehicle and trailer dimensions, clear door widths and heights, bay lengths, overhead obstructions, exhaust coverage, turning paths, apron depths, separate public and apparatus circulation, and a feasible expansion to eight (8) bays. Confirm the final bay count with the Town after the test fit and cost estimate.
