Site work and new construction of a clubhouse / community center in Mount Vernon, Maine. Completed plans call for the construction of a clubhouse / community center.

The Town of Mount Vernon invites qualified contractors or vendors to submit proposals for the supply and installation of a new ADA-accessible aluminum or metal ramp at the Mount Vernon Community Center. The Town's priority is safe, durable, ADA and code-compliant access that can be used year-round. The project involves design/build, supply, and installation of the ramp at 2 Main Street, Mount Vernon, ME. The Town is undertaking a phased ADA accessibility improvement effort. This RFP is specifically for the new ramp system at the Community Center. The committee has included in this RFP the design specifications for ADA compliant aluminum ramp, access route, and parking spaces for the community center. The Town anticipates procuring separately (under separate RFPs/contracts) certain enabling site work such as: relocation of generator/propane tanks/obstructions (if applicable), demolition and removal of existing ramp, and disposal and haul-off of materials any restoration work needed, earthwork/site prep, and paving, including walkway from ramp to parking areas. The selected proposer shall provide a turnkey ramp package including (at minimum): A. Ramp System -- Design/Build, Supply, and Installation Provide a complete ramp system that complies with current ADA Standards for Accessible Design and applicable state/local building codes and permitting requirements. Ramp must include appropriate landings, handrails, edge protection, and a safe, durable walking surface suitable for Maine winter conditions. Ramp geometry and placement shall reflect the intent of the Design Concept, including: multiple landings, safe angulation and alignment with the accessible parking approach, avoiding configurations that place users too close to the roadway. Measure the site in person and confirm all key dimensions (heights, slopes, distances) before completing the final ramp plan. B. Foundations / Pads / Anchoring Requirements Provide stamped or manufacturer-certified specifications for required pads, piers, anchoring, frost protection, and tolerances. Proposer must describe acceptable pad options (e.g., concrete pad, piers/footings, manufacturer pad system), including pros/cons for durability, maintenance, and winter performance. Proposer must address erosion considerations, particularly near water/soft ground areas, and specify minimum stabilization needs. Given the proximity to the lake, this item will be important. Award Notification: June 15, 2026 Earliest Start Date: June 16, 2026 Completion Date: October 1, 2026 Question Deadline 03/13/2026 All questions must be submitted in writing to the Mount Vernon Select Board
