Renovation of a transportation facility in Portland, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
Removal of existing roofing membrane, insulation, cap flashing, disposal of all materials, general conditions, logistics, waste removal, protection of work area from weather, projection from blowing materials, general and special conditions for working at a secure airport, installation of new roofing vapor barrier, new insulation, modified bituminous roofing membrane, drains, cap flashing, sealants and all other related work for a complete roof replacement in its entirety and ready for owner acceptance. Work also included removal and disposal of an existing skylight and infill with framing, finish work and associated roofing. Note the work is within and adjacent to the sterile and secured areas of the Jetport Terminal/Apron and is under TSA screening and security requirements. As a result, work will require security precautions, close coordination with Jetport Operations, TSA, Security, Management, and will involve work limitations affecting the contractor's work including but not limited to inspections for regulatory agencies, sequencing work as directed, restrictive work area, limitations on materials/operations areas, contractor badging and background checks, height limitations of equipment, daily waste removal, relocation of a equipment as directed, FOD (foreign object debris) management and related activities working within a active commercial airport. The Contractor shall be flexible for timing and sequencing and shall fully cooperation with the Jetport Authorities. This work shall be considered incidental and a requirement to the Contractors bid and work. Refer to other contract provisions for additional requirements and considerations. Once the contractor mobilizes the area of work must be completed start to finish compliant with contract documents. Liquidated damages will not be assessed, however, if this date is not achieved due to the critical nature of the airport operations the owner reserves the right to withhold money from the Contractor until such work is completed to the satisfaction of the owner.
