*Project has been cancelled.* Operate the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility at Riverside Recycling, 910 Riverside Street, Portland, ME. The Contractor is responsible for staffing the facility, packaging and transporting all waste materials from the site, and ensuring environmentally acceptable and sound disposal. The facility must be operated on the first Saturday of each month from April through November between 8 AM and 2 PM. The Contractor is also required to provide a one-day collection event at the Peaks Island Transfer Station for a minimum four-hour period on a Saturday to be determined, and simultaneously supply qualified personnel and equipment to travel by barge to five public landings in Casco Bay to accept HHW from island residents. The City will arrange and pay for barge transportation for the Contractor's equipment and personnel. No warranty is provided as to the number of participants at the facility or island events. Bidders must obtain proposal forms and plans from the City.
