Work includes, but is not limited to, modifications to an existing pier structure including pile installation, deck and railing modifications, relocation of existing gangway, structural modifications to the pier to support the installation of a new crane and hoist system including electrical supply, and the furnishing and installation of several new floats and other incidental work. Experience must include pier structural modifications, float construction and installation, and installation of crane systems. Bidders must demonstrate qualification to undertake the work, including current pre-qualification by the Maine Department of Transportation in an appropriate category. Each bid must be made upon blank forms provided and accompanied by a bid bond or equivalent guaranty for 5% of the bid amount. The successful bidder must provide a Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each for 100% of the contract price. The contract is subject to all applicable federal laws and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program requirements set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation. All work shall be governed by the MaineDOT's Standard Specifications and Standard Details. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
