Demolition, site work and addition to an educational facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the addition of a 93,317-square-foot, three-story above grade, 409-seat educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The scope of work for this project includes all Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Acoustical, Audio-Visual, Theatrical and Landscape work related to the construction of a new concert hall at the west end of the existing University of Manitoba Tache Arts Complex (T2). The new addition will include a 409-seat auditorium with a full orchestra pit and a reconfigurable stage. Ancillary functions will include a lobby and ticket counter, gender neutral washrooms, a small food services area, storage space, a performers lounge (green room) and dressing rooms. A portion of these ancillary functions will occupy what is currently shell space in the existing T2 building. The new facility will be built over an existing utility tunnel and crawl space and will require an excavation and shoring strategy that is sensitive to these existing subterranean structures. Selective demolition of existing building and landscape elements will also be required to seamlessly integrate the new facility with the existing T2 building. Site work will include new soft and hard landscaping, general utility and site services relocation, construction of a new raised cross-walk at Maclean Crescent and the relocation and installation of a public art feature in the new landscaped courtyard.
