Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Frederick, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project is to provide funds to allow the City of Frederick to study the lake bottom (silt) and dam appurtenances to determine what necessary improvements/repairs to the Dam and appurtenant structures are necessary and then construct those improvements. Phase I: Dredging Planning Develop a set of bidding documents that accurately reflect the silt study work Utilize this study (Hood College Bathymetric Study 04/2016) to determine if dredging is necessary. Hiring of a contractor (determined to not be necessary at this time 10/2017) Upgrade of the Dam and Appurtenant Structures Hiring of a contractor to perform a safety inspection of the dam and appurtenant structures (currently under way completion by 02/2018) Utilize the evaluation/inspection report to prioritize identified deficiencies and necessary repairs Preparation of construction drawings, specifications and hire a design/builder to design/construct improvements Phase II: Construction Hire a contractor for the design and construction of the dam appurtenances (obtain permits, etc.). As of June 21, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
