As of March 28, 2025, this project has been completed. The project consists of pavement work on Taxiway E & F between Runway 1L-19R and Taxiway Z at General Mitchell International Airport (GMIA) in Milwaukee, WI. This project consists removing the top layer of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) with minor base layer repair or removal. Replacement of impacted utilities such as storm sewers, manholes, airfield lighting and navigational aids including FAA control cable relocation. The existing taxiway geometry will remain essentially the same, with some minor adjustments in width to comply with current FAA standards. Minor ancillary items are landscaping, painting, joint sealing and barricading. Work of contract to begin April 1, 2020 and shall be Operationally Complete by July 3, 2020. Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal for this project is 25 percent. Prime Contractors Shall Be Qualified Prior to Submitting a Bid in Accordance With Chapter 43 of Milwaukee County Ordinance. Bidders shall submit the completed Subcontractor-Supplier Information Entry with the Bid. Failure to submit this information with Bid may result in rejection of the Bid as non-responsive. A 10 percent bid bond or certified check is required with bid. The low responsive, responsible bidder will be recommended for contract award. Owner reserves right to reject bid, to waive informalities in bid or to accept bid which will be in best interest of Owner.
