Bids shall be sealed in an opaque envelope and clearly marked as bids for Wastewater Headworks Equipment Package. The envelope must also bear the name and address of the bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to him. The Bidder shall ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin or handicap status; and comply with the Nondiscrimination / Sexual Harassment Clause included in the Supplementary Conditions, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, federal and Pennsylvania laws and regulations, relating to non-discrimination and sexual harassment, drug-free workplaces and disadvantage business enterprises. Westfield Borough reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all bids and to award contract to the lowest responsible bidder for the total of all bid items. No bidder may withdraw his or her bid within one hundred twenty (120) days after the actual opening thereof. Westfield Borough is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
