Site work for a water / sewer project in Oregon City, Oregon. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project includes: 1. Construction of approximately 364 linear feet of 8-inch and 10-inch sewer main viaopen-cut and trenchless methods to replace and reroute an existing section gravity sanitary sewer main. 2. Construction of up to two (2) 48-inch manholes. 3. Abandonment of existing gravity sanitary sewer. Each proposal must be submitted on forms prescribed by the City and accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in an amount equal to 10 percent (10%) of the total amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond and a labor and material payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of contract. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish a statutory public works bond in the amount of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00). Evidence of workers' compensation insurance will be required before the work shall commence The City will investigate and determine the qualifications of the apparent low bidder prior to awarding the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements, and may reject all bids, if it is in the public interest to do so. For Bid opening - In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City Commission Chambers is limited to six (6) people at a time during bid opening. City staff will comprise two (2) people, leaving space for four (4) contractors to be inside the City Commission Chambers during bid opening on a first arriving basis. If there are remaining contractors that wish to remain on-site during bid opening, they can wait outside the City Hall building and City staff will compile the bid results and deliver hard copies to the contractors. Prior to submitting a bid, it is the responsibility of each Bidder to: A. Examine the contract documents thoroughly. B. Visit the site to become familiar with local conditions that may affect cost, progress, or performance of the work. C. Consider all federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations that may affect cost, progress, or performance of the work. D. Study and correlate the Bidder's observations with the Contract Documents. E. Notify the Contact Person of all conflicts, errors, ambiguities or discrepancies discovered in the Contract Documents.
