Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Working plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

The City of Tarpon Springs Public Works Department has developed documents to relocate the existing organic (yard) waste recycling center operations to the Tarpon Springs Closed Class III Landfill located at the intersection of Meres Boulevard East and South Levis Avenue. The project includes a new pre-engineered modular scale house, relocated scale, a new crushed concrete driveway and parking area. In addition, the existing rock roadways on the Landfill are proposed to have routine maintenance performed on them as part of this project. Located within the construction limits of this project, the new pre-engineered modular scale house will feature a restroom, walk-up window with horizontal self-closing slider, metal roof with pre-finished interior and exterior, electrical and plumbing for a sink and counter for a break area, complete HVAC and vinyl flooring throughout. The project also includes four (4) parking spaces adjacent to the scale house and associated sidewalk. In addition to parking, other site improvements include grading, a stormwater management system and utilities. The stormwater management system consists of a lined dry retention pond with a concrete overflow weir and effluent filtration system. A new on-site lift station will serve the scale house, with new force main connecting to an existing discharge force main located at the existing organic waste recycling center. Potable water will be provided via new water main service line and connection into the existing water main on Meres Boulevard East. The project also includes bid alternates to address additional safety and landscaping improvements on Meres Boulevard including crosswalk striping and sidewalk installation as shown in the plans. FDEP ERP exemption and Landfill Permit modification are pending.
