Site work, new construction, renovation and addition to a medical facility in Georgetown, Delaware. Completed plans call for the addition of a medical facility; for the construction of a medical facility; for the renovation of a medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
New Sussex County Public Safety Building which will house the Sussex County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) administration and training facility. The new facility will be constructed as an addition to the existing Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with related renovations of the existing facility. The new building shall include offices, simulation rooms, conference rooms, fitness room, locker rooms, bunk rooms, warehouse, garage and related staff and support areas. The renovation shall include new kitchen facilities, renovation to building MEP systems and a new lobby connection with the new EMS building. The completed work shall include site work, concrete, masonry, steel framing, metal and membrane roofing, steel studs and drywall, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials and incidentals, and shall perform all operations required to completely finish all of the work in the manner approved by the Architect. The EOC is a critical 911 call center and its operations must be maintained throughout the construction period. Subcontractors shall be qualified and experienced in projects of similar size, type and complexity as this one, and shall be subject, if requested by the County, to submit evidence of same prior to execution of the construction contract. The County has elected to divide installation of data network, access control and lockset hardware on this project into separate contracts. Work related to the Audio-Visual equipment, data network, access control system, door locksets and building furnishings are part of separate contracts. The General Contractor shall cooperate fully with the County's separate contractors, representatives, etc. Any discrepancies in the work or contracts shall be brought to the attention of the Architect and County, in writing, prior to proceeding. Written questions will be accepted and answered via Addenda if submitted to Sussex County Engineering Administration Department by 5:00 p.m., July 6, 2021. Questions shall be submitted via email to Kaycee Widen at kwiden@sussexcountyde.gov. Questions shall include the project name EMS PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING in subject heading. Bidders must be registered to perform work in the State of Delaware and shall include their license number on the Bid Form. Bidders shall present demonstrated evidence of ability, qualifications and experience in successfully completing three (3) or more construction projects within the last five (5) years of similar size, type and complexity as the proposed new Public Safety Building. The right is reserved, as in the interests of Sussex County may appear, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bids received, and to accept any or all bids received.
