Site work for a civil project in Macrorie, Saskatchewan. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Gardiner Dam is located approximately 100 km south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Gardiner Dam consists of three main components: 1) 5 km long earth embankment; 2) Five control gate towers; and, 3) 11 Bay, gated concrete spillway. Gardiner Dam began operation in 1967 and has remained fully operational since its commissioning. The spillway is 1,160 m long and utilizes expansion joints to reduce concrete stress development along the spillway slab. Expansion joints allow for the movement of the slab which results in the eventual closure of the available expansion joint gap. Once the joint has closed, the stresses in the downstream slab will build over time causing damage to the concrete slab and putting the spillway at risk when spilling water. The Joint 41 (expansion joint) has reached the end of its service and a new expansion joint needs to be installed. The scope of the work is to provide contracting services to: 1. Staged demolition of existing Joint 41 expansion joint. 2. Installation of new Joint 41 expansion joint. 3. Provide Care of Water through all construction phases. TIMELINE: Tender for construction services was issued in 2022 however no bids were received. Timelines for re-tender and construction are unknown. Project will be published in the future if/when it's been approved to bid. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
