The work generally includes the removal of existing revenue water meters in the Owner's system followed by the installation of a replacement meter to be provided by the Owner. Further, work will include scheduling of the work at individual meter locations, and performing standard plumbing work associated with installing/replacing any water appliance. Lastly, the work will include completing a data sheet, recording pertinent data about the work, such as: incoming service line size and material, condition of location of meter installation and it appropriateness, existence or absence of a manifold in the case of a duplex or multiple service location, condition of curb stop (functioning/not functioning). The Project has an expected duration of one hundred eighty (180) days. Funding for the Project is provided via a USDA Rural Development loan secured by Owner. Bid Hold Period Bidders are required to hold their price for a minimum of ninety (90) days to allow Owner to award a contract. American Iron and Steel Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials.
