Demolition, site work and addition to an educational facility in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Working plans call for site work for a educational facility; for the addition of a 85,400-square-foot educational facility; and for the demolition of a educational facility.

Northern Kentucky University aims to begin construction on a long-planned addition to its main science research building at the school's Highland Heights campus. NKU unveiled plans for the Herrmann Science Center expansion at the board of trustees meeting March 12, 2024. The project will add 85,400 square feet of teaching and research space for the departments of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, geology and engineering technology. The Center for Integrative Natural Science and Mathematics and the Kentucky Center for Mathematics, currently located in Landrum Hall, would relocate to the building. As of September 30, 2024, construction documents are almost complete. An architect and construction manager have been selected. The project is planned to go out to bid October 7, 2024, for invited general contractors and various trade packages. An official bid date and time has not been determined. A firm construction timeline has not been established; however, construction could begin April 2025 and is expected to take about 30 months. The budget could include funding for renovations to 19,000 square feet of the existing 175,131-square-foot building.
