The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, Recreation Sites and Trails Branch provides the public with opportunities for recreation experiences in provincial forests through the development and maintenance of recreational sites and trails for public use, usually at no cost. While no specific use figures are available for the recreation sites to be serviced under this contract, the level of use typically varies for each site, depending upon numerous factors including proximity to local communities, road conditions, weather, number of campsites, recreational opportunities at the site, type and quality of boat launch, etc. Generally speaking, the sites that have historically had higher use will have more frequent site visits scheduled in Schedule C Pumping of pit toilets and the assessment and hand falling of hazardous (danger) trees at these recreation sites are services that may be provided by another contractor under a separate contract. If the successful bidder is certified and qualified to complete danger tree assessment and falling, these services may be added to this contract under an amendment to the contract. The anticipated term of the contract will be from May 1st , 2022 to May 15, 2023, however the "Service Period" or period in which services will be provided by the Contractor, will be from May 1st, 2022 to October 31st, 2022. The work will involve the cleaning, repairs and maintenance of facilities on Recreation Sites throughout the West Quesnel area as per attached Schedule A "Services". There is no limit to the number of contracts that may be awarded to one contractor. Tenders must be submitted on the form and in an envelope labeled in accordance with the Conditions of Tender. No tender shall be considered that contains any qualifying clause whatsoever. The lowest of any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
