The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR), Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Program is requesting bids for yellow star thistle weed control on the Rainwater Wildlife Area in Columbia County, Washington, located south of the city of Dayton. In order to ensure maximum fairness to all contractors, any and all pertinent questions regarding the attached IFB must be submitted by email in writing by 4:00 p.m. prevailing local time on, April 15, 2022 and directed to: CTUIR, DNR Wildlife Program 46411 Timine Way Pendleton OR 97801 Attn: Jerry Middel Email: geraldmiddel@ctuir.org (541) 969-9925 (cell) The scope of work consists of application of herbicide spraying of yellow star thistle on remote steep hillslopes accessible only by horseback. The treatment area is approximately 100 acres (see map). Project priorities and timelines are described below: Initial herbicide application begins: July 1, 2022. Final herbicide application: September 2022. GPS records of spray locations in UTM NAD 83 Zone 11 North. Photos of affected patches and actual spraying will also be taken and delivered to Tribes. Planned weed treatment activities are summarized in Table 1 and shown on the attached map. Note that CTUIR will provide aminopyralid (Milestone) only; other chemicals (e.g. dyes, adjuvants) will be provided by the contractor.
