RFP Number: 18-02-2022 Title: Benjamin Franklin Middle School Renovations Franklin County Public Schools Issued By: Franklin County School Board Issue Date: February 17, 2022 To All Interested Parties Subject: Request for Proposal Architectural and Engineering Services for the Design of Middle School Renovations for Benjamin Franklin Middle School East and West Buildings The Franklin County School Board (School Board) is requesting proposals from interested parties to provide architectural and engineering services for the design and construction administration of renovations to the East and West Buildings of Benjamin Franklin Middle School located in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The scope of renovations will primarily include, but are not limited to, mechanical and electrical equipment upgrades for both buildings. Roofing work, associated architectural improvements, and associated structural modifications may also be needed. This is contemplated as a major replacement of HVAC systems since both facilities have had only minor upgrades since their original construction of 1977 for the West Building and 1988 for the East Building. The initial work will include enough design development to provide reasonably accurate cost estimation of the total cost of the project to assist is securing funding from the County Board of Supervisors. If the project is funded, the School Board will have the option to continue the A/E services contract for full design and construction administration services. Please read carefully all information contained in the RFP document. Interested parties are invited to submit an original and five (5) electronic copies marked. The copies should be on thumb drives. Nothing herein is intended to exclude any responsible Offeror or in any way restrain or restrict competition. All responsible Offerors are encouraged to submit proposals. The RFP can be located on the FCPS Division website at https://frco.k12.va.us under the Division tab. The School Board plans to select a qualified Offeror based on the requirements set forth herein and pursuant to the Commonwealth of Virginia Procurement Regulations. The awarding authority for this contract is the Franklin County School Board. The School Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
