Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Union City, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Union City, California ("City") hereby gives notice inviting bids for the Old Alvarado / Cesar Chavez Parks Improvement Project ("Project"), in accordance with California Public Contract Code Section 20164, all applicable laws and regulations, and the following sections of this Notice Inviting Bids. The project consists of various improvements in Old Alvarado & Cesar Chavez Park located respectively at Smith St. and Wakins St. & Granger Ave. and Randall Ct., in the City of Union City, California. The work generally includes the rehabilitation walkway paths, playground equipment and area replacement, installation of new park furnishings, installation of 1/2 basketball & full volleyball court, and improvement of ADA access throughout the 2 parks. Questions concerning the project must be submitted to Trieu Tran by e-mail at TrieuT@unioncity.org at least five (5) working days prior to the time specified for the bid opening. Where appropriate, the City may respond to such questions through procedures outlined in the Instructions to Bidders. Performance Bond (100% of Contract Price Payment/Labor and Materials Bond (100% of Contract Price) Maintenance Bond (Submitted prior to start of project, 10% of Base Bid) In accordance with California Public Contract Code Sections 20170, all bids must be presented under sealed cover and include one of the following forms of bidder's security: cash; cashier's check made payable to the City; certified check made payable to the City; or a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer and made payable to the City. In accordance with California Public Contract Code Section 20171, the amount of bidder's security provided must equal at least ten percent (10%) of the total of the bid price Contractor's License Required. In accordance with California Public Contract Code Section 3300 a Class A Contractor's License issued by the Contractors State License Board of California is required to bid on the Project PROJECT AWARD. On the date of April 26, 2022, the City Council awarded the Project to the Contractor and directed City staff to send the Contractor written Notice of Award of the project. The City Council conditioned the award of the project on the Contractor's providing complete, accurate, and executed copies of all documents specified in the Contract Check List included in the bid package within ten (10) working days of receiving written Notice of Award of the project. City reserves the right to, in its discretion, reject any bids presented and re-advertise the Project or accept any one of two or more bids that are the same and the lowest
