Description of Work: There are three main tasks to this project, details are in the Plans and Specifications:
1. Remove shoreline armor and beach rock along an area of beach 610 lineal feet long by about 40 feet wide. Haul the rock about 1,200 ft along Norman Rd, to end-dump at a Public Works pit (see maps, attached).
2. Nourish the beach with a wedge of cobble (high beach), fish mix (mid beach), and gravel (low beach), along the 24,400 sq ft of cleared beach area.
3. Build a 50-ft long retaining wall next to the boat launch, using reclaimed shoreline armor and spalls. Bid Guarantee: Bid deposit shall be submitted with each bid by check or money order, in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, or a bid bond in lieu of deposit. The jobsite is located on either side of the San Juan County Mackaye Harbor boat launch on Lopez Island, as well as two private properties to the immediate south. The boat launch serves as the County barge landing for Lopez Island. Agency federal fish permits and site conditions require a construction window between July 16 and September 16. Permitting requires that construction activity and equipment be located above tidal waters. The contractor is responsible for all the details in this Call for Bids, Contract Plans, Specifications, and Permits. Time for Completion: 15 working days Oral explanations, interpretations, or instructions given by anyone before the Award of a Contract will not be binding on San Juan County. Any information given a prospective Bidder concerning any of the Bid Documents will be furnished to all prospective Bidders as an Addendum, if that information is deemed by San Juan County to be necessary in submitting Bids or if San Juan County concludes that the lack of the information would be prejudicial to other prospective Bidders.
