Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of October 28, 2022, a design team has not been identified and a construction timeline has not projected for July 2027-June 2028. The project will remediate an approximately 3.6-acre property at 2638 Leroy Road and repurpose the site as an Impound Lot for the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD). Environmental remediation will be accomplished primarily through contaminated soils removal, testing, and on-site encapsulation. Site repurposing of the former "Law Enforcement Training Site" (LETS) will include installation of a gravel impound lot and associated fencing, lights, security cameras / CCTV, covered area, and appropriate contaminate monitoring and stormwater infrastructure. This project is in included in the City's or County's FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
