Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Palmer, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
As of March 29 the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established . The Project consists of removal of walks, regrading, constructing new walks and concrete pads, resetting some curbing, adding 2 ADA curb ramps with warning strips, creating a base layer for rubber safety surface, block seat wall planters around existing trees, planting of a few new trees, and loaming and seeding within the southern half of the park. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.30 39M and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive and Davis Bacon and shall pay the higher of the two rates. General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Town of Palmer. The Town of Palmer reserves the right to reject all proposals in the interest of sound business practices. The Town of Palmer is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employers and encourages proposals from qualified minority and women owned businesses and Section 3 businesses. The funding source for this project is a Community Development Block Grant.
