Project Category Code: Seal Coating, Traffic Control, Pavement Resurface and Rehabilitation, Highway Preservation/Maintenance, Asphalt Overlay - Fog Sealing, Emulsion, Pavement Preservation, Crack Sealing Repair and/or Maintenance Description: Project involves crackfilling and spot sealing numerous streets, slurry sealing a portion of Huntington Street and Vernon Drive. Additional Description: All Work is included in a single prime contract. Bidding Documents, including Drawings and Specifications, may be examined at the offices of Village of Merton, and the Consulting Engineer during regular business hours. Construction time is of the essence. Completion delays are subject to liquidated damages. The Village of Merton reserves the right to accept the most advantageous Bid, or to reject any and all Bids. Award of Work described herein is subject to the provisions of the Wisconsin Statutes. Partial sets of Bidding Documents are not available. Neither Owner, Engineer nor Issuing Office is responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any Addenda, obtained from other sources. The cost of Bidding Documents is non-refundable. Each entity obtaining Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office will be designated as a Plan Holder of Record. Bids received from entities who are not Plan Holders of Record may be returned as being nonresponsive. A Bidder's qualification statement must be delivered to Village of Merton at least 5 days before the Bid opening date. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bond or Certified Check payable to Village of Merton equal to 5 percent of the Bid. If the successful Bidder fails to execute the Contract and furnish payment and performance bonds within 15 days after the award, the Check or Bid Bond may be forfeited to Village of Merton as liquidated damages. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Project is in the Village of Merton and includes work in numerous Village Streets. Work includes, crack filling, spot sealing, and slurry sealing. See Exhibits A and B for locations and work requirements. The Village of Merton along with the Village of Lisbon and the Town of Merton have agreed to cooperate jointly in the cost of the repairs associated with Ainsworth Road under this contract. Segments of Ainsworth Road are within the three communities. Insurance requirements require that each be named an additional insured. In addition, the Town of Merton is planning to patch the pavement within their segment of Ainsworth Road and that work is planned to be completed by August. See Milestone 1 for associated contract start times. Contractor shall contact the three community representatives a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of the work in Ainsworth Road.
