The contract shall commence on the Commencement Date set forth in the contract for Hauling Services and expire one (1) year later, unless terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions of this Contract. QUESTIONS: Questions must be submitted in writing to the Procurement Office no later than April 6, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. An electronic message may be submitted to purchasing@petersburg-va.org Only when specifically requested in the bid documents shall each bid be accompanied by a bid bond with surety satisfactory to the City attorney or a cashier's check or a certified check, made payable to the Treasurer of the City of Petersburg. In the event of default by the bidder, the deposit shall be and represent liquidated damages to the City. Bids received without a bid bond, when specifically requested, shall be rejected and deemed nonresponsive. RENEWAL: The City, at its sole option may renew this Contract for up to two (2) one year renewal terms by furnishing the Contractor with written notice of its decision to renew at least 60 calendar days before the expiration of the then-current term. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the procuring public body to be in its best interest.
