Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Petersburg, Virginia. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
This project includes the following work: Excavation and grading for new parking lots; installation of footings for leased modular student housing; installation or underground utility conduit and piping for power, data, water and sewer for modular buildings and other projects; installation of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter; installation of hardscapes, installation of brick pavers; and making repairs to existing conditions. For bids less than $500,000, the requirements for a bid bond are waived for prequalified contractors This is a process to qualify contractors to bid on work. A pre bid conference and site visit will be held when each project bids All inquiries for information must be in writing and directed to: Debra AC. Sulla; dacsulla@vsu.edu byCOB May 16, 2023; questions will NOT be addressed after this date. It is the intent of the university to begin bidding these projects by July 1, 2023 with a schedule of 60-360 days dependent on material lead time. The process for prequalification is approximately 45-60 days and the bidding of the work will be advertised between 21-30 days depending on the estimated construction cost estimate. VSU will strive to issue the Notice to Proceed within 14 days of the bid opening.
