Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in La Jolla, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 305,000-square-foot educational facility; 82,000-square-foot parking garage; for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a nine-acre educational facility; and retail development.
Project consists of new specialized instructional support, student health and well-being services, including mental health, and other student academic services and resources. Scopes also includes an alumni and welcome center, multi-purpose space for various campus programs, public realm improvements, and structured parking. Project will redevelop 9.2-acres that are currently occupied by Myers Drive, Rupertus Lane/Walk, Russell Lane, and eight separate structures. The project replaces the old structures with new, higher-density, sustainability-focused buildings, anticipating 305,000 GSF of building and 82,000 GSF of structured parking / loading dock: 1. Student Health, Mental Health and Well-Being 2. Student Academic Resources Building 3. Alumni and Welcome Center 4. Multi-Purpose Building (Gallery, Celebration space, Parking, Flexible Academic space) The project would also include a small amount of retail space in support of enrollment growth, such as grab-and-go food options or other on-site services. The University has bid and awarded a CM at Risk Contract to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. (hereafter CM/Contractor). CM/Contractor is responsible for bidding and awarding all subsequent subcontractor packages, including this package. The successful Subcontractor Bidder shall sign a Subcontract Agreement directly with CM/Contractor, and shall be bound by all the terms of the contract between University and CM/Contractor.
