As of January 15, 2024, construction of this project is underway, however, an exact timeline for construction has not been confirmed. consists of construction of a walking trail along the Juniata River as an extension of the existing Juniata River Trail. The proposed walking trail will consist of a 10-foot wide, 3,100-foot long asphalt trail. A supplemental ADA accessible parking lot will be constructed at the end of Riverside Drive to provide direct access to the proposed trail. The project is located in Lewistown Borough, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. This project is being financed in part by grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority and a grant known as the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation. The obligations imposed on Mifflin County Planning & Development Office by the financing agencies shall apply to and be acceptable to the successful bidder(s). The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids. Owner also reserves the right to waive all minor informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the Work. the successful bidder shall furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond to the Owner, in the form contained in the Contract Documents and executed by a satisfactory circular 570 listed surety, each equal to 100% of the total contract amount. The bidder will also furnish evidence of insurance coverage as required by the contract documents.
