Demolition, site work, paving, new construction and addition to a mixed-use development in Fontana, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 44,451-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility; for the demolition of a 1,204-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility; 14,000-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a 111-space sidewalk / parking lot; for the addition of a 421-square-foot bridge / tunnel; and 1,690-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility.
The project will have distinct phases of demolition and construction that need to be sequenced appropriately to facilitate construction of the project. The demolition and construction of the improvements to the DSO building to be conducted in a manner that will minimize the impact of the day-to-day operations of the existing DSO Building which will remain occupied and operational. At no point in time, shall utility services to the existing DSO building be impacted without notification and approval from the Owner and Architect. Complete demolition of the existing municipal building, and the construction of a new two-story facility. The new building will encompass approximately 44,451 sq. ft. with a multi-level exterior plaza of roughly 14,000 sq. ft. and 111 new ground-level parking spaces for staff and visitors. Furthermore, the scope for DSO building, involves the demolition of approximately 1,204 sq. ft. of level 1, the addition of approximately 1,690 sq.ft., of a two-story space, and the addition of approximately 421 sq. ft. of 50% open pedestrian bridge to connect the level 2 DSO to the proposed elevated city hall grand plaza.
