Groton is located on Fishers Island Sound in southeastern Connecticut, about 10 miles west of the Rhode Island border. The Town seeks proposals for ballfield renovations at Sutton Park. Sutton Park includes a youth baseball field and high school softball field that serve as the home fields for Mystic Little League and Fitch High School Softball. This project entails re-orientating and renovating the fields to become a fullsize baseball and softball field. Renovations would also include associated facilities (Bleachers, backstops, scoreboards, dugouts and restroom facilities) consistent with high school level fields. Claude Chester Various conceptual plans were designed for the Claude Chester property. The plans called for the construction of two multi-purpose athletic fields. Renovations would include associated facilities (bleachers, restroom, equipment storage, parking lot renovations and pavilion) Fitch High School Current athletic facilities at Fitch High School include 6 lane running track around a football field, baseball field and six tennis courts. Amenities associated with the facilities include stadium seating and men's restroom and storage building. Renovations would include expansion of the football field and running track (8 lanes) and adjacent softball field, adding a bathroom and storage facility by the existing baseball field, , construction of two multi-purpose fields, two additional tennis courts, new stadium seating and mens and womens bathroom and storage building, concession stand, locker and meeting rooms Renovations would also include associated facilities consistent with high school level fields. Provide bidding and design support services during construction, with an option for inspection services (depending on budget capacity).
