Site work and paving for a road / highway in Palacios, Texas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The State Highway 35 project, which will likely span 1.33 miles from North Gordon Street to Steel Road. This project would install elevated SH 35 main lanes within an existing grassy median and turn the existing lanes into frontage roads. There would also be intersection improvements at FM 528 and Wheeler Road. This project requires an acquisition of 1.69 acres, but no displacements are anticipated. As of October 23, 2023, a public meeting was held on October 12 and 17, 2023. All public comments must be received by November 1, 2023. The project will be a design-build project. However, A professional design services solicitation has not been released. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has been disclosed. Construction is slated to begin Spring of 2027.
