Upton Grange Exterior Improvements: Remove and replace asphalt roof system, window, wood siding, and associated work. Agency Name and Address : Upton, Town of c/o Upton Grange #125 26 School Street Upton, MA 01568 Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The Upton Grange #125, Upton, Massachusetts, the Awarding Authority request bids for the Upton Grange Exterior Improvements project to include the removal and replacement of asphalt shingle roof and underlayment with associated repairs to sheathing, paint exterior of building, repoint chimney, paint existing fire escape, and pour new footings. Add Alternate #1: Rebuild existing accessible ramp. The Upton Grange is located at 26 School Street, Upton, MA 01568. RFIs are due by February 8th at 2pm by email to Architect at jsherwood@grlarchitects.com. All work must be completed by June 30th, 2024. Base Bid: 1. Repoint brick masonry chimney. 2. Remove existing vent on roof. Patch opening with framing and sheathing. 3. Remove existing roof components (asphalt shingles, underlayment's, and all associated flashings) down to existing sheathing for installation of new asphalt roofing system. Install new self-adhered underlayment, step-flashing, asphalt shingles and associated components. Replace any deteriorated roof sheathing and include 20% replacement as part of base scope. 4. Scrape/sand/paint existing siding. Where existing siding is damaged or deteriorated install new weather resistive barrier, associated flashings, new wood sidings and trim. Configuration and sizing to match existing. Remove and replace rotted siding/boards as needed (allows 20%). All new wood siding, trim, fascia, and accessories to be painted to be determined through a paint analysis performed by John Canning Co. 5. Prepare all existing window trim, doors, and misc. components to be painted. Paintcolor to be determined through a paint analysis performed by John Canning Co. 6. Typical remove and install new trim, fascia, and soffits as needed at deteriorated areas to match existing. 7. Evaluate and remove deteriorated siding and framing and replace with new vertical board siding and trim as required. Configurations and siding to match existing. All siding, trim, fascia, and accessories to be painted to be determined through a paint analysis. 8. Scrape, prime, and paint metal fire escape stair with rust inhibiting paint. 9. Remove existing storm window. 10. Remove and replace existing window. Alternate #1: 1. Add: Remove and replace existing wood ramp. Replace with new ADA compliant wood ramp and railing systems. Construction shall be executed in a timely and orderly manner as follows: 1. Notice to Proceed: After the Owner-Contractor Agreement has been validated. 2. Contract Executed: Within 30 days of Notice to Proceed. 3. Commencement of Work: Spring 2024 4. Substantial Completion Date: May 2024 5. Final Completion Date: June 30, 2024
