The Amador Water Agency (Agency, AWA) seeks experienced and qualified firms to design cathodic protection upgrades, conduct surveys, corrosion engineering and related professional and other engineering services, to design cathodic protection systems for approximately 42 miles of buried water transmission pipelines. Qualified consultants are invited to submit Proposals in accordance with the requirements of this Request for Proposals (RFP) on or before the due date listed on the cover page, or as may be modified by future addendum. Responders may be an individual, a firm, or a team with a primary responder and identified sub-consultants. The successful consultant must be aware of the budget limitations and be able to provide a clear plan for completing the required work that meets the project's goals within the project budget constraints and schedule. The service contract is expected to be awarded in 2024 and the work should be completed within twelve months of the notice to proceed. The selected engineering firm's primary responsibilities shall be to investigate the current condition of the listed transmission pipelines and any existing cathodic protections, evaluate pipeline corrosion and remaining pipeline life, and to design Cathodic Protection Systems for each pipeline that exceed NACE International criteria for cathodic protection and standard industry practices. Work may include project management, performing surface and underground pipeline surveys, pipeline location, investigative excavation, performing land and soil surveys, obtaining permits, traffic control, testing, project design, developing contract documents, preparing plans and specifications, preparing bid documents, bid phase assistance and other services. The Proposer is encouraged to expand the definition of the scope of services in the proposal as may be deemed appropriate for adequate investigation of the Project.
