PROJECT BACKGROUND Burlington International Airport is seeking proposals from contractors to supply and install Pavement Markings on the Airport's Taxiways at 1200 Airport Drive, South Burlington, Vermont. All work will have to comply with the attached Airport Signs and Pavement Markings - Overall Signing & Marking Plan, Advisory Circulars 150/5370-10H current edition Standard Specifications for Construction of Airports and 150/5340-1M and/or current edition Airport Markings. This will include proper eradication of between 70 and 90 percent of existing markings. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Equipment and Labor: a. Provide all labor and equipment to complete the following work on the following: Removal to be done on asphalt with grinding method and debris cleaned prior to application. Edge Markings from hold 15-33 hold position leading onto taxiways G, H, M, B, C, J. Edge Markings from 19-1 hold position south on B. Taxiway C/G to the Valley West Apron. Taxiway G from the Valley West Apron to Valley. Taxiway J from 15-33 hold to Valley. Total of 5,830 Lineal feet of solid edge line markings. 2. Marking Requirements: a. Required use of airport provided materials b. Black waterborne paint c. Yellow waterborne paint d. Type 1 glass beads 3. Description: a. Taxiway edge markings continuous b. Two reflective yellow lines to be incased with black paint c. Yellow paint must be applied by machine with a pressurized bead application d. Dimensions of both colors 6" e. Total width 30" 4. Schedule: a. All Night work will need to be completed from the hours of 12:15 a.m. (or last arriving flight) and 5:15 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning. BTV operations will inspect the runway after each closure prior to the first flight departure each morning. b. Cancellation of work for weather related purposes must be called by 2:00 p.m. daily on days that night work is scheduled to be completed. c. All Day work will need to be completed from the hours of 7:00am to 3:00p.m. (unless otherwise deemed necessary by Airfield Foreman/Manager to take advantage of good weather conditions.) d. Contractors will need to coordinate with Airport Maintenance staff for escort availability and scheduling.
