Summary: Soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide routine, general maintenance on Storm Water Management Facilities (SWMF) and Best Management Practices (BMPs) in various locations on primary and secondary routes within the Bedford and Christiansburg Residency's located in the Salem District. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The initial term or period of the contract shall be for a one (1) year period with the effective date to be determined at time of award. (Renewable). Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Shonda Fowler at shonda.fowler@vdot.virginia.gov . The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions by 5:00PM EST on 03/27/2024. SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor shall provide all necessary equipment, labor, fuel, hand tools, and incidentals necessary to perform routine SWM Facility maintenance services. Work shall include but is not limited to: 1. Minor Sediment/Silt removal 2. Weeding 3. Removal of woody vegetation 4. Mowing 5. Removal of trash and debris 6. Removal of blockages from inlet/outlet structures 7. Clearing ditches 8. Exercising of gate valves Work may be performed at any time of the year even during the winter season, weather permitting, at the discretion of VDOT. There may be lapses in time between project assignments. Projects must be completed as directed by VDOT; however, there may not be a set of plans.
