WAHKIAKUM COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS FOR SALMON CREEK, KING CREEK AND NORTH FORK WILSON CREEK BRIDGES The Wahkiakum County Public Works solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil and Structural Engineering Design. This agreement will be for approximately two years in duration with the option for Wahkiakum County Public Works to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. Consultants will be considered for the following project. The Wahkiakum County Public Works reserves the right to amend terms of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses. Project Description The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing engineering design for three (3) new stream crossings to replace storm damaged culverts with fish friendly design that meets the requirements of the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, projects are as follows: Design to replace culvert on Salmon Creek Road with a larger culvert or small bridge as required by regulatory agencies. Design to replace culvert on Covered Bridge Road over King Creek with a small bridge or larger culvert. Design to replace culvert on East Valley Road over North Fork Wilson Creek Culvert with a small bridge and rebuild 600 feet of roadway and approaches. Environmental documentation and preparation of permit applications including coordination with WDFW on requirements. Traffic control plan or bypass route design for all three crossings, as applicable. Coordination with FEMA on costs and requirements. Bridge Structural Certification to meet WSDOT/ FHWA standards. The Wahkiakum County Public Works reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (R/W, CN) associated with this/ these project(s).
