The Town of Milton is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from professional structural engineering firms (Consultant) for the design of a new Milton Department of Public Works Highway Facility Salt Shed. The consultant scope of services includes engineering, design and installation of a fabric metal building cover for the salt shed as well as field construction inspections. All SOQs upon submission become the property of the Town of Milton. The expense of preparing and submitting an SOQ is the sole responsibility of the Consultant. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received, to negotiate with any qualified firm, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this RFP if it is in the best interest of the Town. This solicitation in no way obligates the Town to award a contract. The Consultant, prior to being awarded a contract, shall apply for registration with the Vermont Secretary of State's Office to do business in the State of Vermont, if not already so registered. The registration form may be obtained from the Vermont Secretary of State, 26 Terrace Street, Montpelier, VT 05609-1104. The telephone number is (802) 828-2386. The contract will not be executed until the Consultant is registered with the Secretary of State's Office. The successful Consultant will be expected to execute sub-agreements for each sub-consultant named in the proposal upon award of this contract. The Consultant understands this contract will be governed by the attached Town of Milton Standard Terms and Conditions. The project consists of the engineering and structural design, fabrication and construction of the salt shed fabric metal building cover. The town is currently working with Krebs & Lansing Engineers on geotechnical investigations and site improvements and structural foundation engineer Consulting. The team of the Town of Milton DPW and Town Manager, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineer, and Contractor will work together during all phases of the project to provide a project completed on time, with quality, and within budget. The Scope of Work for this project includes the following tasks, but is not limited to: 1. Design/Engineering of a fabric metal building cover as well as the fabrication and construction. Note the concrete foundation is not a part of this scope, however the awarded contractor shall work with the Town's structural engineer on the foundation loads, etc. An acknowledgement email will be sent to all firms submitting a statement of qualifications.
