The project site is on Ridgecrest Drive, south of the existing Public Works facility. The site is located on the boundary of a gravel pad, adjacent to both the heated facility structure and the native vegetative brush. The pad is currently free of traffic but is assumed to be used for intermittent or temporary parking. This site is located approximately 1 mile from the Port of Bethel. Piped water and sewer and electrical services may be available at the site through the Public Works facility. In general, the existing surficial fill pad consists of silty sand to silty sand with gravel. Native silty sand was observed beneath the fill pad. Peat and organic material from the decomposing vegetative mat are present beneath the native silty sand. No massive ice was observed to the depth of observation. Groundwater was encountered at about 8.5 to 9 feet below ground surface (bgs). Beneath the fill and organic layer, silt, silty sand, and sandy silt were encountered to the maximum depth of exploration of 46.5 feet. The successful Bid shall comply with each provision thereof. Each Bid will be reviewed by the Owner and Engineer for compliance and completeness. Bidders must be in good standing with the City of Bethel. The winning bid will be selected based on the lowest, responsive, qualified bid. Local Bids will receive a five percent (5%) preference in determining the lowest responsible and responsive bid. The City of Bethel will not be liable for any costs incurred by any Bidder in response to this advertisement. The City of Bethel reserves the right to reject any or all bids without cause.
