SCOPE OF WORK: The City of Bartow is seeking a qualified and experienced contractor to provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and supervision to covert the current batting cage building into a maintenance building located at 555 Softball Complex - 850 County Road 555, Bartow, FL 33830. The scope of work includes but is not limited to: 1. Enclosing three (3) open walls that are currently open with metal siding. 2. Furnish and install a chain assisted Metal Roll up door, 10ft high X 16ft wide to allow vehicle entry and supply delivery. o Include an extended ramp to allow for smooth vehicle entry. 3. Add a mini split AC unit (size: 30,000 BTU (2.5 Ton) 21 Seer/ 20 Seer2) to air condition the center enclosed office. 4. Repaint the exterior of the building per the following: o Trim - SW7020 - Black Fox o Walls - SW7017 - Dorian Grey 5. Furnish and install two (2) Industrial, raw unpainted/coated exhaust wall fans on the north & west side of the building. o One (1) for the existing room on the North side of the building. o One (1) on the West side of the building for main open area. 6. Install four (4) 48-inch blade ceiling fans evenly spaced in the main open area of the building in order to provide air flow. 7. Provide one (1) walk through door on the East side of the building. o Include steps/ramp to the door (must be ADA Compliant) Liquidated Damages: Bidders are hereby advised that if the Contract documents so indicate, a reasonable amount for liquidated damages may be assessed for Contractor's failure to meet stated specifications, schedule, or other relevant issues as determined by the City. Information regarding the composition of liquidated damages can be found in the Supplementary Conditions. Liquidated damages are not intended as a penalty. QUESTIONS DEADLINE:: April 6, 2024, by 4:00 P.M. All questions must be received by the date stated in writing and must be sent to Danielle Rose, Purchasing Manager via email . Bid Bond: A Bid Bond is required to be submitted with all construction bids in excess of $150,000.00 in an amount not exceed five percent (5%) of the preliminary estimate of the cost of the work (amount bid). Unsuccessful bidders will be entitled to return of surety. A successful bidder may forfeit any surety required upon failure on their part to enter into a contract within the specified time after the award. Performance Bond & Payment Bond: A Public Construction or Performance and Payment Bond will be required on all construction contracts when the price exceeds $250,000. A surety bond shall be required of the successful bidder in an amount equal to the awarded contract price and, if called out in the contract, the allowance amount; and shall be submitted to Procurement along with the executed contract documents as outlined under section 11.0, Approval of Contract. Owner Rights: The successful Bidder to whom a bid is recommended for award will be so notified by City staff. The Purchasing Director, however, at their sole discretion, reserves the right to reject any and all bid submittals or to waive any informality concerning the bid submittal whenever such rejection or waiver is in the best interest of the City. The Purchasing Director, likewise, reserves the right to reject the bid submittal of any Bidder who has previously failed to perform properly or to complete on time, contracts of a similar nature; or who is not in a position to perform the contract; or who has habitually and without just cause neglected the payment of bills or otherwise disregarded its obligations to subcontractors, materialmen or employees. The City of Bartow is seeking a qualified and experienced contractor to provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and supervision to covert the current batting cage building into a maintenance building located at 555 Softball Complex - 850 County Road 555, Bartow, FL 33830. The estimated cost of this project is $71,000.00.
