Renovation of an educational facility in Niles, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of November 15, 2024, construction has completed August 2024. No further information is expected. The previous solicitation is listed below for reference. A five percent (5%) Bid Bond shall accompany each bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Bonds, and certificates of Liability and Worker's Compensation Insurance. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of creating a new secure entrance for the High School by adding a Security Office contiguous to the main entry vestibule that visitors must first enter before entering the school. Adjacent and connected to the new Security Office will be the new Vice Principal's Office. Both new offices will be concrete block construction. Both offices have an existing east brick wall that will be covered with metal studs and drywall. Carpet square flooring and acoustical lay-in ceiling. New aluminum storefront door systems at the vestibule will be replaced. Technology improvements include but are not limited to card access, door position sensors, door release buttons, cameras, data drops, access point, PA system, etc. The existing main entrance video intercom and door release system is to be relocated to a temporary entrance to the west for the duration of the project's construction and once the project is complete they are to be permanently installed back at the main entrance. A temporary one hour fire rated wall is to be constructed down the center of the corridor to isolate the construction area from the rest of the school. Niles Community Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any defects or irregularities in bids, and to accept any bid which is deemed most advantageous to the public interest.
