Site work and environmental remediation for a civil project in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for environmental remediation for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The existing bridge on Whitney Ave that runs over I-91 North & South carries approximately 200' of an Intermediate Pressure (IP) 6" coated steel gas main encased in a 10" steel sleeve. During a recent inspection, it was noted that the pipeline sleeve is in need of remediation to protect against atmospheric corrosion. This gas line can only be safely accessed from underneath the bridge while stationed on I-91 which requires working with specialized equipment and is subject to MA DOT work zone permit restrictions (i.e. work hours, traffic control measures, etc.). Prevailing Wage Rates apply. OSHA training required. All bidders are required to submit a bid deposit equal to 5% of bid. The successful bidder will be required to obtain satisfactory Payment Bond equal to 50% of bid. Estimated date of completion shall be included with the bid package and extensions may be requested but are at HG&E's sole option and discretion.
