The City of New Britain is seeking to engage the services of a Consulting Engineering firm to provide construction inspection services. The improvements will include construction of approximately 1.5 miles of a paved multi-use trail and associated work such as retaining walls, grading, granite curbing, minor traffic signal modifications, fencing, ADA compliant concrete sidewalks and ramps, crosswalks, pavement markings and milling and paving. Phase 2 is approximately 0.5 miles long and Phase 3 is approximately 1.0 mile long. The Phase 2 projected construction duration of approximately 250 days. The Phase 3 projected construction duration of approximately 420 days. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) sub-consultant goal is zero percent. The inspection fee will be negotiated on a cost plus fixed fee basis to the awarded firm, and if no agreement is reached, the City of New Britain will move to the 2nd most qualified firm. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time
