The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, supervision, and incidentals required to perform the Work of the Project as described herein. The Work generally consists of, but may not be limited to, the following: New construction, modification/retro-fit, rehabilitation, repair, reconstruction, and heavy maintenance of drainage and sanitary sewer systems and appurtenances. Related and incidental work including construction safety; construction surveying, stakeout, and accurate layout of the work; coordination between other contractors, agencies, utility owners, City departments, and private property owners; nondestructive excavation and location of subsurface objects and utilities; preserving, protecting, and supporting existing utilities; selective demolition of surface improvements including highways and other public works; traffic control and maintenance of traffic in accordance with Virginia Work Area Protection Manual; environmental protection, erosion, and sedimentation control; disposal of surplus or waste materials; trench excavation and restoration of paved and unpaved areas disturbed by contract activities; the protection or replacement of existing fencing, retaining walls, and landscaping; removal of obstructions; minor utility relocation, adjustment, and protection; grading, soil scarification, moisture control, backfill, and compaction; replacement of turf, roadside vegetation, trees, and other landscape items; and other work as needed, required, or assigned. The Work of each project shall be completed within THIRTY (30) DAYS following the City's issuance of Notice to Proceed or within the time limit as may be negotiated for each project. Three hundred fifty (350) dollars per day including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. A proposal guaranty (bid bond) is required to be submitted with bid in an amount equal to 5 percent (5%) of the total bid price. The successful Offeror will be required to provide performance and payment bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount upon Notice of Award. Proposals received from Offerors who do not hold a Virginia Class A contractor's license will not be considered and will be immediately rejected.
