Renovation of a water / sewer project in Northbrook, Illinois. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Per the owner, a general contractor has been selected. Construction is scheduled to begin Spring 2026 and be completed Spring 2026. The generator at the Foley sanitary lift station, installed in 2000, has reached the end of its useful life. This lift station and generator serve an important purpose in the operation of the Village's sanitary sewer system, lifting sewage from lower elevated sewers to higher elevated sewers so that the waste can again flow by gravity and be deposited in the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District's main truck line sewers that transport contents to their treatments facilities. A power failure at one of these lift stations could cause sewage to back up sanitary sewer lines making reliable generators of critical importance. Generator build out and delivery lead times have been 12-15 months over the past several years.
