James City County is soliciting sealed competitive bids from qualified and experienced professional contractors licensed in the state of Virginia with the demonstrated capability and capacity for roadway repairs and improvements as described in this Invitation for Bids. The Work under this Project consists of the repairs and improvements of roadway, curb, sidewalk, ADA ramps, inlets, traffic signs, lighting, and drainage systems. The roadway and curb, as well as the sidewalk, ramps, and drainage systems will need to be brought up to VDOT standard. The location of the work to be completed consists of Settlers Market Blvd. stretching from Monticello Ave. through Trailview, as well as Casey Blvd. stretching from Monticello Ave. through Trailside. All questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Kitty Hall, Purchasing no later than 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in writing via e-mail to: kitty.hall@jamescitycountyva.gov Bid Security in the amount of Five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Performance and Payment bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract will be required by the Owner prior to Contract Award. The cost of bonds is to be included with the bid price. All work associated with this project shall have achieved Substantial Completion in 180 days from Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages in the amount of $500.00 per day will be assessed for failure to meet the schedule for Substantial Completion or Full Completion. Withdrawal of Bids due to error shall be subject to and in accordance with Section 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia and the Contract Documents. The Owner reserves the right to waive minor non-substantive informalities in the Bid.
