Renovation of a municipal facility in Skowhegan, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

As of August 22, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. They plan to bring a recommendation to the Commissioners at their next meeting on September 3rd. Request for Proposals (RFP) for LED Lighting Conversion Services for the Somerset County Courthouse - 41 Court Street Skowhegan Maine. Scope of Services Somerset County seeks to hire a company to remove and dispose of existing interior lighting in all rooms of the Somerset County Courthouse building, as well as to procure and install approximately 226 new LED lighting fixtures. Installation must be done by a property licensed electrician. Material costs and labor costs should be included as part of the financial analysis in completing the Bid Form and Agreement (Appendix B). The disposal of existing lighting will be at the expense of the contractor. The County is interested in installing only high-quality, high- performing fixtures with a minimum of 5-year warranties, and requests these for both chosen fixtures and controls. Demonstration In order for the County to determine the best product, there will be opportunity for bidders to provide samples and if necessary to have a product demonstration. This will allow bidders to quote installation of products most compatible to the needs of the County. The County Administrator will coordinate any product demonstrations. The Somerset County Commissioners are inviting submissions of proposals for the procurement, construction and installation of 226 LED fixtures. In the first phase of this process, the County received product recommendations and price quotes from a reputable electrical supply company. Those recommendations (not the price quotes) are available for the bidder to review to assist with preparing a proposal (Appendix A). Proposal Submission Requirements General qualifications of firm Provide current certificate of insurance Provide the qualifications of the key individuals who would be responsible for this project. Installation must be done by a licensed electrician Quality assurance/quality control Outline steps your contactors take for resolving installation and/or commissioning problems Explain how standard services are requested and dispatched in the event of a problem References (name, phone number) preferably for similar lighting projects Proposed project schedule Explain your approach to ensure a successful and on-time project Provide a project schedule/timeline The Contract will be awarded to the most responsible bidder complying with the conditions of the RFP based on selection criteria, provided that the consultant is reasonable and that it is in the best interest of the County to hire that company. The County may select the most qualified firms and conduct interviews. The company to whom the award is made will be notified at the earliest possible date. The County reserves the right to reject any or all submittals for any reasons, to waive technical or legal deficiencies, to proceed or not to proceed with any subsequent proposal process, or to negotiate without further process any contract as may be in the best interest of the County. The County reserves the right to undertake such investigation as it deems necessary to evaluate the qualifications of the Contractor and to evaluate its submittal. All information, data, documents, photos, computer records, and other materials of any kind acquired or developed by the Contractor pursuant to this project shall be the property of Somerset County.
