Langlois Creek Culvert Replacements (SVT and PSE Crossings) to all qualified bidders. (range $550,000 to $750,000) Major Bid Items include Mobilization; Structure Excavation Class A; Receival, Offload, Movement, and Installation of two (2) Precast Concrete Box Culverts (heaviest pick weight approximately 51,000 lbs.); Utility Coordination; Utility Work; Gravel Borrow; Streambed Sediment and Cobble; Crushed Surfacing Base Course; Temporary Stream Diversion; Groundwater Dewatering; Instream Large Wood Habitat Structures; Erosion Control and Pollution Prevention; Restoration Seeding and Planting; and other items in conformance with the 2024 WSDOT Standard Specifications, the Plans, and Specifications. The SVWID will supply the two new precast concrete box culverts (Culvert #1 - 18 X 10 X 70 and Culvert #2 - 18 x 10 x 20). The contractor is responsible for coordinating the transport of the culvert pieces to the project location. The in-water work for this project must be completed before the end of the fish window; September 30, 2024. The footprint of the project is within parcels owned by King County Parks, Puget Sound Energy, and Remlinger Farms, and includes major utilities such as overhead transmission lines and an underground cross-country AT&T fiberoptic cable. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating work with the AT&T contractor responsible for the fiberoptic Protect in Place Plan. Respectful and effective communication is essential. Knowledge and experience with water pumps, bypass setup, and dewatering wells is critical. Respect for aquatic animal species and an understanding of the removal and relocation best management practices is highly sought due to the high numbers of coho salmon in Langlois Creek. All aquatic animals will be removed by the SVWIDs consultant.
