The Water Treatment Division is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the City's water system. This involves the operation of water treatment plant (WTP) with a maximum capacity of 17.5 million gallons per day (mgd), which provides packed tower aeration, water storage reservoir, lime softening, filtration, chloramination and disinfection of the water. The raw water source is the East Coast Surficial Aquifer and water is obtained from twenty-seven (27) production wells. The wells consist various diameter wells ranging in diameter from 8 inch through 14 inch and with various pumping unit ranging in capacity from 460 gallons per minute (gpm) to 1,250 gpm. The pumping units consists of a vertical turbine pumping unit and submersible and typing pumping units. Raw water from the wells is conveyed to the WTP through network of various dimeter pipes. Finished water is delivered to customers through the network of water transmission and water distribution lines. The WTP has four constant speed, three variable speed high service pumps and two transfer pumps together with three (3) water storage reservoirs and re-pump No Pre-Bid Conference Available.. Each agreement will have a term of three (3) years, with one (1) renewal option of two (2) years, for a possible total of five (5) years, subject to early termination as set forth in the agreement. No representation or guarantee is made by Utility Special District as to the minimum or maximum dollar value, volume of work, or type of work that any firm will receive during the term of any agreement. Further, it is the intent of Utility Special District, to review no fewer than two firms for each Category regarding their qualifications and ability to furnish the required services. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Request for Qualifications, part of Request for Qualifications and waive minor irregularities or variances to specifications contained in Request for Qualifications, which do not make the Request for Qualifications conditional in nature and minor irregularities in the solicitation process.
