Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Hamilton, Ontario. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Discrete underground early works are being required to be delivered prior to the major construction in the Light Rail Transit "LRT" corridor to mitigate complexities for the contractor chosen to build the Hamilton LRT. The City of Hamilton has coordinated these works with state of good repair works and will take the opportunity to construct a municipal roadway on Main Street East reflective of City's Vision Zero Strategy and Complete Street Guidelines. The Main Street East and Rosewood Road project will include the relocation of the existing 1200mm trunk watermain on Queenston Road between Rosewood Road and Delena Avenue South since space constraints make it impractical to reconstruct the 1200mm trunk watermain in the LRT corridor. The evaluation of RFPQ, subsequent tender, contract award, construction administration, inspection and payments to the Contractor shall be the sole responsibility of the City of Hamilton staff. The role of Metrolinx in the Project is limited to only the financial reimbursement to the City, upon the completion of construction for certain works. Infrastructure works in the Project are inclusive of, but not limited to the following: - supply and open cut installation of: - 1,075m of 1200mm trunk watermain with five (5) associated chambers - 600m of distribution watermains 300mm or smaller - 700m of water services and/or sewer laterals - 150m of 300mm sewers - 9,500 square metres of municipal roadway construction - 5,000 square metres of concrete sidewalk, boulevard or approach construction - 2,000 square metres of road resurfacing - pavement markings and minor traffic signal works Project is to be delivered expeditiously and in accordance with the Ontario Heath and Safety Association Construction and Materials Specifications Manual. Local access must be maintained on Main Street East and Rosewood Road at all times. Anticipated Contract Milestones: Construction is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2024. The 1200mm trunk watermain, sewers, and subsurface infrastructure crossing the trunk watermain alignment or displaced by its installation shall be substantially complete and in service by August 29, 2025. The remaining subsurface works shall be completed by October 17, 2025. Surface works shall be completed by August 14, 2026. Intermediate completion dates for surface works components will be provided at the time of tender. The value of this Project is estimated to be between $10,000,000.00 and $20,000,000.00.
