Bid Category 07-01: Roofing A. Includes: Demolition Coping Metal Roof Insulation Wood Blocking B. Clarification: 1. Remove existing shingles and underlayment down to plywood sheathing. 2. Provide any additional demolition not listed above, but would reasonably be required to complete this scope of work. 3. Furnish and install new metal drip edge to match fascia color. 4. Furnish and install new ice guard and felt per code. 5. Furnish and install new shingles. Basis of design GAF Charcoal. 6. Furnish and install new flashing around penetrations including new boots around pipe penetrations. 7. Furnish and install all caulking necessary to complete this scope of work. 8. Repair lawn and landscaping back to original condition at completion of construction activities. a. Including any damaged sidewalk and irrigation 9. Provide all lifts/scaffold as required to complete scope of work. 10. Provide unit pricing to replace damaged roof decking per square foot. Contractors awarded contracts will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance as follows: a. Statutory Workers' Compensation/Employers' Liability Insurance for not less than $500,000 each accident/ $500,000 bodily injury; Disease-policy limit/$500,000 each employee. b. Commercial General Liability Insurance, including Blanket Contractual Liability with Limits of not less than $ 1,000,000 per occurrence/ $2,000,000 aggregate; Bodily Injury and Property Damage $1,000,000 per occurrence/ $2,000,000 aggregate. c. Commercial Automobile Liability Insurance covering all Owned, Non-Owned or Hired Vehicles with Combined Single Limit Bodily Injury and Property Damage of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence. d. Umbrella or all risk coverage in an amount not less than $2,000,000. e. Krieghoff-Lenawee Company and the Owner shall be named as additional insured on a primary and non-contributory basis, and coverage to include premises operations and completed operations. f. Prior to commencement of the work, contractor must obtain and thereafter maintain in effect the insurance coverage described herein and provide Krieghoff-Lenawee Company evidence of the required insurance The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any irregularities in bidding, or to accept the lowest responsible proposal, which in the opinion of the Owner serves the best interest of the Owner. The Owner will not be obligated to accept the lowest proposal. The Owner further reserves the right to approve all subcontractors. The project site is available for each bidder to visit and familiarize himself with conditions under which the Work will be done. Lack of such knowledge will not constitute a basis for any claims whatsoever for extra compensation or extension of time.
